Stakeholder Involvement

The art of building bridges between project proponents and communities

Transfert Environnement is a social design consulting firm that facilitates the planning and development of projects in collaboration with host communities through public participation tools.

Whether the project is in the field of energy, mining, agri-food, transportation, waste management or any other, the ultimate goal is the same: to build bridges between promoters and communities in order to stimulate dialogue, information sharing and the involvement of all stakeholders during project development.

Transfert Environnement offers a systematic social approach that encourages direct democracy, « win-win » approaches and integrates social development in the application of sustainable development. The firm masters and builds on the following tools and approaches:

  • Social and environmental communication
  • Social evaluation and strategic studies
  • Community relations and social integration of projects
  • Project management involving public participation
  • Consultation, conciliation and arbitration processes
  • Public session facilitation, event organization and conferences
  • Scientific and technical writing for the general public
  • Technological and social monitoring and skills transfer
  • Decision-maker training

Between 1996 and 2009, Transfert Environnement was headed by Mr. André Delisle, engineer and experienced environmental communicator who acted as commissioner and vice-president of the Quebec Bureau d’audiences publiques en environnement (BAPE) for several years. Mr. Delisle now works as a senior strategic advisor following a successful business succession to Cédric Bourgeois and Alex Craft who pursue the mission in expert collaboration with a core group of young devoted, rigorous and proactive professionals.
